EXIT Realty Corp. International, a real estate franchisor with brokerage locations across the U.S. and Canada, announced its support for Habitat for Humanity’s long-term recovery efforts following hurricanes Florence and Michael with a contribution of $400,000, designating $200,000 to each response.

“At EXIT Realty we are a group of professionals dedicated to providing an excellent quality of life for our associates and the communities they serve,” said Tami Bonnell, CEO, EXIT Realty Corp. International. “We are honored to help support Habitat for Humanity’s long-term disaster recovery efforts. Giving back is in our corporate DNA and it is our privilege to contribute.”

Hurricanes Florence and Michael caused widespread destruction from strong winds and severe flooding, leaving many without a place to call home. Storms of this nature tend to have the most impact on lower-income populations where they are more prone to flooding, lack insurance coverage and have less means to quickly get back on their feet.

“We are committed to helping storm-affected families with their shelter needs. Local Habitat organizations in the impacted areas have been assisting with debris removal, emergency repairs and damage assessments,” said Julie Laird Davis, vice president of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Habitat for Humanity International. “EXIT Realty’s generous donation to both hurricanes Florence and Michael will allow us to help more families and communities rebuild stronger, more resilient places to call home.”

Habitat has been helping communities in the U.S. and around the world recover from disasters for more than 20 years. Every disaster leaves a unique path of destruction, and Habitat’s recovery varies based on the impact and available resources.

EXIT Realty’s partnership with Habitat began in 2004 when the company sponsored its first Habitat home build in West Palm Beach, Florida. Since then, EXIT Realty has sponsored nearly 20 decent and affordable Habitat homes, participated in the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project both in the U.S. and Canada, and transformed a community to be more vibrant and safer through neighborhood revitalization. In 2016, EXIT Realty introduced a program to match funds raised by its brokerages and agents to benefit Habitat initiatives in their local communities. A portion of every transaction fee received by EXIT Realty is pledged to nonprofit organizations.
