The Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) is pleased to announce that Scott Poag has been elected Secretary/Treasurer of the association’s board of directors. Poag is Director of Business Development for W&A Engineering which has offices in Athens, Augusta and Nashville, TN.

As Secretary/Treasurer of SEDC, Poag will have a leadership role on the board’s executive committee and help to carry out the association’s program of work for 2020. Poag has years of experience in the field of economic development and brings a unique set of skills to the organization. “Scott has been a member of SEDC since 2013,” SEDC President Gene Stinson said. “I am excited we will have the benefit of his leadership on our board, as we continue to expand the benefits we offer our members working to advance economic prosperity in the communities they serve.”
