Berry College recently became one of the first higher education institutions in Georgia to welcome a Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) collegiate chapter.

Students involved in Berry’s DECA chapter will experience and compete in various real-world business simulations and serve the community in different ways. DECA is an organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The DECA Collegiate Division consists of over 15,000 members in 275 colleges and universities.

Freshman Kayleigh Strech led the process of approving Berry for this chapter. Strech was the president of her high school’s DECA chapter and competed three times in DECA competitions at the national level. She attended the college student organization meetings and hosted the first student interest meeting in order to get the chapter approved at Berry.
