Bert Brantley, President and CEO of the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce, is encouraging Georgia’s business leaders to take advantage of the Fostering Success Act Tax Credit as a powerful, no-cost way to invest in the state’s future workforce. He sees youth aging out of foster care as a highly resilient, determined group with the potential to become outstanding employees—if given the right support to pursue post-secondary education.

Through the Fostering Success Act, Georgia businesses can redirect state tax dollars to provide essential wraparound services such as housing, transportation, child care, and educational expenses. Brantley calls the program “brilliant” for its flexibility to meet real needs—whether that’s a textbook, a calculator, or fixing a flat tire—so students can stay on track toward their goals.

“This is more than charity—it’s an investment in our companies, our communities, and our state’s economic future,” Brantley says. He urges executives to join in maximizing the available tax credits, ensuring more young people can overcome barriers, complete their education, and enter Georgia’s workforce ready to thrive.
