Inland Port a 'Game Changer' for North Georgia

Projects such as the overhaul of the Interstate 285-Georgia 400 interchange and the roadway expansion at I-20 and I-285 east of Atlanta in DeKalb County allow more room for commuters, and they also aid in the free flow of freight, industry watchers say.

Trucks and trains move about 231 million tons of goods through the region. By 2050 that amount could increase by an estimated 69% on the low end, or as much as 118%, according to the Atlanta Regional Commission.
