Georgia’s Film Industry Still Thriving Despite Marvel’s Exit

Even as major productions like Marvel scale back filming in Georgia, state leaders and entertainment advocates say the Peach State’s film industry remains strong, thanks to lucrative tax credits that continue to attract new projects.
Under the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act, productions can earn up to 30 percent in tax credits for shooting in the state. The incentive has made Georgia one of the top filming destinations in the country, and unlike other states, the program is uncapped, meaning there’s no maximum limit on how much credit a production can receive.
