The Georgia Chamber has announced that Raphael Bostic, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, will be a featured speaker at this year’s American Rural Prosperity Summit being held in Athens, Georgia, October 4-6. Presented by Georgia Power, the Chamber’s American Rural Prosperity Summit brings together hundreds of business leaders and elected officials who are passionate about creating vibrant, robust rural communities throughout the nation.

“At the Atlanta Fed, we recognize the importance of making the economy work for everyone, and this means understanding and enhancing the prospects of rural areas and smaller cities throughout the Southeast,” said Dr. Bostic. “This summit gives us an opportunity to highlight potential solutions to some of the persistent issues rural Americans face, as well as a chance to discuss how rural areas and smaller cities can build economic resiliency and create a thriving economy.”

The program will begin on October 4, 2021, and will span three days, exploring trends and challengesimpacting rural America through speaker presentations, panel discussions and community tours and networking functions. The event will be held in Athens, Georgia, at the Classic Center.

“Rural America was already facing challenges in broadband, workforce development, healthcare and small business recruitment,” said Chris Clark, President & CEO of the Georgia Chamber. “With COVID having accelerated many of these challenges and risks, it is important that we come together as one rural community and move forward through recovery and into a more resilient future. That is exactly what the American Rural Prosperity Summit has been designed to accomplish and we look forward to hearing from President Bostic and seeing everyone in Athens this fall.”

The Georgia Chamber is encouraging masks to be worn and safety precautions, as outlined by the CDC, to be followed at all times for the health and well-being of those in attendance.
