Meet Vladislav, a junior at Columbus State University majoring in kinesiology. His story of overcoming adversity and pursuing his dreams is a testament to his resilience and determination and it’s thanks to generous tax credits from Georgians.

Vladislav entered foster care at 12 after being adopted from Ukraine and facing challenges with his adoptive family. He was determined to succeed, with significant encouragement from his high school counselor and mentors. Choosing Columbus State University for its pre-med program, Vlad combined his academic interests with his passion for sports.

An accomplished semi-professional soccer player, Vladislav's love for sports led him to switch his major to kinesiology, aligning his athletic experience with his academic goals. However, an unexpected tuition bill threatened his educational journey, nearly causing him to drop out.

Through the support of the Fostering Success Act and FaithBridge Youth Opportunities, Vladislav received the financial assistance he needed to stay in school. This vital support has ensured he can focus on his studies and athletic career without the burden of financial stress.

Vladislav’s message to other foster youth is clear: never hesitate to seek help. People and programs, like the Fostering Success Act, are ready to provide the support needed to achieve your goals.

Supporting the Fostering Success Act costs you nothing but has an invaluable impact. Learn more at fosteringsuccessact.org.
