Governor Deal Appoints Two to State Boards

Tim Lowe, Board of Natural Resources
Lowe is a consultant to the real estate and construction industries. He is a former CEO of Lowe Engineers and a former chairman of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority. Lowe retired as a captain with the U.S. Navy following 30 years of active and reserve duty. He is a member of the Georgia Chamber Board of Governors and a former chairman of the Chamber’s Health and Wellness committee. Lowe is also a former chairman of the Council for Quality Growth and a member of the council’s Executive Committee. He is a graduate of Leadership Georgia. Lowe earned a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Emory University. Lowe and his wife, Traci, reside in Atlanta and St. Simons.
Philip Wilheit Jr., Georgia Ports Authority
Wilheit is a partner at Wilheit Packaging, LLC. He previously lived and worked in Mexico, Germany and China with Siemens. Wilheit sits on the board of trustees for Leadership Georgia and the board of directors for the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation. He is the vice chairman of government relations for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the chairman of the John Jarrard Foundation Board of Directors and the chairman-elect of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors. Wilheit is a former chairman of the United Way of Hall County board of directors and a former member of the Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia advisory board. He previously sat on the board of directors for the North Georgia Mountain Authority. Wilheit is a graduate of Leadership Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University and a master’s degree in International Business and Entrepreneurship from Georgia State University. Wilheit and his wife, Addie, have two children and live in Gainesville.
