Sussessful Georgia: Driving American Innovation Co-Hosted by The Georgia Chamber
Wednesday, February 27th, 2019
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the United States Chamber of Commerce Global Innovation Policy Center joined to co-host Georgia: Driving American Innovation.
It was a successful day filled with highlights on how companies in Georgia, and across the United States, are growing new jobs based on investments in intellectual property. Keynote speakers touched on ways that companies in diverse industries are dependent on patents, copyrights, trademarks and other components of intellectual property.
Speakers Representative Hank Johnson and Representative Doug Collins discussed the importance of Georgia’s film industry and how it continues to impact economic growth. Representative Johnson stated, “last year there was more film production in Atlanta than the entire world.” Georgia’s film production success has led to other forms of improving innovation. Representative Collins stated, “the film industry has now found a home in Georgia.” With the new recognition in Georgia, it provides a more attractive state for thriving intellectual property.
The Georgia Chamber sends a warm thank you to Georgia State University Law School for partnering and offering such a wonderful venue, and the United States Chamber of Commerce Global Innovation Policy Center for joining to host an impactful event. Also, thank you to the speakers and elected officials who shared their morning to discuss the changes that are occurring in our economy.
