Thursday, January 30th, 2020

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is hosting the first ever Georgia Secretary of State Secure The Vote TikTok voter education challenge. As part of the Secure The Vote campaign, the Secretary is encouraging participants in the Secretary’s Student Ambassadors program to join the competition and create viral content that will educate their peers on Georgia’s new, secure paper ballot system through TikTok, a video-sharing mobile app.

“We are working hard to educate Georgians of all ages about our new, secure, and verifiable paper ballot voting system,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “I look forward to engaging our Student Ambassadors to help get the word out to Georgia’s younger voters.”

Participating Student Ambassadors can win 200 or more Student Ambassador program points for each TikTok video they submit. At the conclusion of the competition, the winners will be picked by the Secretary and members of his communications staff. The winning TikTok will be judged on creativity and impact. Student Ambassadors can find specific guidelines at securevotega.com.

“I am looking forward to seeing all the TikTok video submissions,” said Assistant Press Secretary Anna Caroline Soldan, one of the judges of the competition. “This is an excellent opportunity for Student Ambassadors to not only express their creativity, but also to learn about marketing. I have no doubt that they will love this challenge.”

The winning submission will be featured on Secure the Vote’s website and social media. Winners will also receive 1,000 points and Secure the Vote items.
