Berry College has chosen Economics Professor Lauren Heller as the new Dean of the Campbell School of Business.

“Having been a part of the Berry faculty for 14 years, I know what a special place this is. I am so excited to continue to build on Berry’s great foundations in business education to provide an unparalleled experience for Berry students, and a significant contribution to our local community,” said Heller.

Heller is currently serving as Interim Dean of the Campbell School of Business and will begin her role as Dean on March 1.

Since joining Berry in 2010, Heller has served as Interim Assistant Provost for Teaching and Research, Director of the Honors Program, Acting Department Chair of Accounting, Economics and Finance and Co-Director of the Honors Program.

She has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina and a B.A. in economics from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, summa cum laude with minors in history, mathematics, and Spanish.

“Dr. Heller has been a recognized leader for many years at Berry. She is uniquely positioned to guide us into an era of dynamic change in the business world,” said Berry President Steve Briggs.

Berry Provost David F. Slade said Heller’s selection builds on a long track record of student-centered service.

“Dr. Heller brings forward-thinking leadership to the Campbell School of Business to enhance the student experience in collaboration with our excellent faculty and staff in the school,” Slade said.
