GDOT Wants Feedback on Proposed Project on US 278

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, May 9th, 2024

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) wants to hear from the public about the proposed intersection improvements on US 278 in Polk County. The proposed project would convert the intersection with Coots Lake Road into a Right-In-Right-Out with U-turns available on US 278. Construction is currently scheduled for 2026.

The proposed intersection would reduce the frequency and severity of crashes at the intersection. Visit https://sr-6-sr-101-at-coots-lake-road-0016469-gdot.hub.arcgis.com/ for more information and to leave comments about the project. Comments can be submitted until May 22.
