Milton Becomes a Category 5 Hurricane

Milton has undergone incredible rapid intensification on Monday, and is now a dangerous Category 5 hurricane with winds of 180 mph and higher gusts.

Milton's max winds have increased of 95 mph in a 24-hour period, one of the highest increases ever on record in a 24-hour period, only to be topped by Wilma in 2005 and Felix in 2007. Milton is also at a near record low pressure. As of 8pm, the pressure in Milton is at 897mb.  The record low is from Wilma with a pressure of 882mb.
