Monday, November 11th, 2024
Berry College welcomes author, civic advocate and cultural commentator Alexandra Hudson to speak at 11 a.m. Nov. 14 in the Krannert Center Spruill Ballroom.
Hudson will sign books after the Cecil B. Wright Lecture Series, which is free and open to the public.
The author of “The Soul of Civility: Timeless Principles to Heal Society and Ourselves,” Hudson will talk about how civility can bridge divides in today’s polarized society. Her work emphasizes correct motivations and beliefs toward others and how to cultivate habits that lead to civility and integrity.
Hudson inspires communities globally as founder of the Civic Renaissance, an intellectual community and newsletter of almost 50,000 members worldwide. In the past, she has advised political bodies such as Parliament of Canada and the UK House of Lords. She has contributed to news organizations such as PBS, The Wall Street Journal, CBS and TIME and has a master's degree in public policy from the London School of Economics.
Hudson’s lecture is part of the Cecil B. Wright lecture series, hosted by the Berry Center for Integrity in Leadership in honor of Cecil B. “Buster” Wright III, a 1973 Berry alumnus. Wright also serves on the Berry Board of Trustees. For more information about the center, please visit https://www.berry.edu/bcil/.
