Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper is proud to announce the return of the Georgia Grown Bowl, taking place at 7:00 PM on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at the Allen E. Paulson Stadium in Statesboro. Now in its second year, this exciting showdown between Georgia State University and Georgia Southern University is expected to draw thousands of fans as the teams face off for the coveted Commissioner’s Cup. The event also serves as a celebration of Georgia’s #1 industry — agriculture — which contributes more than $ $91.4 billion annually to the state’s economy. Beginning at 3:00 PM, attendees can explore the Georgia Grown Farmers Market, showcasing locally sourced products and unique vendors from across the state—just in time for kickoff.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Georgia State and Georgia Southern to feature one of our state’s great rivalry games in the second annual Georgia Grown Bowl,” said Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. “Like agriculture bridges the gap between rural and urban Georgia, athletics connects fans in every corner of our state and beyond, and the Georgia Grown Bowl is an awesome opportunity to bring together farmers and fans through agriculture and athletics. At Georgia Grown, we’re committed to promoting our state’s #1 industry and telling the story of Georgia agriculture to new audiences, and this partnership helps us do exactly that.”

The Georgia Grown Bowl offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to spotlight the vital role agriculture and athletics play in driving Georgia’s success. Throughout the event, Georgia Grown will take center stage with prominent features on LED boards, jumbotron highlights, game programs, and in-stadium promotions — all underscoring the powerful connection between the state’s leading industry and the energy of college football.

“We’re grateful to Commissioner Harper and his team for continuing this outstanding initiative,” said Chris Davis, Director of Athletics at Georgia Southern University. “Agriculture is the heartbeat of South Georgia; it fuels our economy, strengthens our communities, and reflects the work ethic and pride that define this region. The Georgia Grown brand captures that same spirit we see in our student-athletes: homegrown talent representing this great state with pride, passion, and purpose.”

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Department of Agriculture and participate in the 2025 Georgia Grown Bowl,” said Georgia State Athletics Director Charlie Cobb. “Commissioner Harper is an authentic leader as evidenced by his visionary ways to promote Georgia’s #1 industry: farming. We hope our rivalry with Georgia Southern will provide great competition and a means for farming families across Georgia to know we appreciate them.”
