Berry College junior Cai Sabino has been awarded the Global Citizenship Award at the American College of Greece.

The Global Citizenship Award is presented annually to one study abroad student who displays interest in cultural diversity among students, school and community. Sabino received this award for his positive impact during his semester abroad through volunteering and involving himself in his local community.

Sabino, a nursing student, studied abroad in Athens, Greece, for four months during the spring 2025 semester. He immersed himself in Greek culture through sightseeing, tasting local cuisine and cultivating new friendships.

“I am eternally grateful for the local students and people of Greece that welcomed me with open arms to their beautiful country and culture,” Sabino said. “They taught me so much about the world and my place in it. My perspective on people and different countries has grown immensely and it would not have been possible without my experience studying abroad in Athens.”
