Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Thursday, January 15th, 2026

Grammy award-winning Christian rapper Lecrae is the keynote speaker for Berry College’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on Monday (Jan. 19, 2026).

You may know the singer-songwriter from songs like “I'll Find You” featuring Tori Kelly, “Coming in Hot” and “Blessings” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Lecrae has evolved into a New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur, speaker, thought leader, philanthropist and co-owner/president of Reach Records.

According to his bio, Lecrae is a catalyst for restoration in faith, music and popular culture, and part of a new wave of thought leaders who are engaging the culture and taking faith out of the pulpits into the wider world in hopes of bringing restoration.

The event begins at 10 a.m. in the Krannert Ballroom and is open to the public at no cost. All community members are invited to participate and help Berry continue to cultivate a culture of belonging. The event is part of the Conson Wilson Lecture Series.

Berry College hosts a speaker each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to kick off “Be Love Week,” where students, faculty and staff participate in lectures and workshops as well as service projects. Last year’s speaker was Ruby Bridges.

This year’s events include the film “Caregiving” and a panel discussion on Thursday with guest Josh Carter, grandson of the late President Jimmy Carter, who has spoken about his grandmother Rosalynn’s legacy of supporting family caregivers. The Rome International Film Festival is a partner for the screening. More info about programming: https://www.berry.edu/student-life/diversity-belonging/programs/be-love.
