The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 10 projects valued at approximately $85.7 million at the monthly State Transportation Board meeting held in January. An additional project from November 21, 2025, was also awarded. Contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders for a previously deferred project on February 5, and the other projects on February 9, 2026.

The largest single investment construction project, valued at approximately $38.5 million, proposes 1.619 miles of widening and reconstruction for additional lanes on State Route (SR) 211 beginning at Pinot Noir Drive and extending to SR 347 in Barrow, Gwinnett, and Hall counties. This contract and four other construction projects total approximately $61.8 million and represent 72 percent of the total funds awarded.

The largest resurfacing contract, valued at approximately $6.8 million, proposes 15.784 miles of milling, inlay, plant mix resurfacing, and shoulder rehabilitation on SR 2 beginning at the Towns County line and extending east of SR 15 in Rabun County. This contract and four other resurfacing projects total approximately $23.9 million and represent the remaining 28 percent of the total funds awarded.

The previously deferred construction project from the November 21, 2025, letting has now been awarded. The interchange reconstruction project on US 29/SR 316/SR 8 at Dials Mill Road and Dials Mill Ext. includes construction of a bridge and approaches over SR 316 in Oconee County. This project is valued at approximately $25 million.
