Fox Theatre Announces Investments for DeSoto Theatre & Thomasville Municipal Auditorium

Two historic Georgia theaters received a major preservation boost last night from Fox Gives. The philanthropic arm of the Fox Theatre awarded a record-breaking $1 million in multiyear preservation funding, including two $500,000 grants to the DeSoto Theatre in Rome and the Thomasville Municipal Auditorium. The milestone marks the first time Fox Gives has awarded two multiyear preservation grants in a single year.
The investment doubles Fox Gives’ typical annual multiyear preservation funding and will help preserve the cultural landmarks and performance venues that support local arts, tourism and community connection across Georgia. Eight additional organizations from across the state were also recognized with single-year preservation grants during the ceremony.
