Georgia has been home to countless movies and TV shows over the years thanks to generous tax incentives. But as many productions move overseas, federal lawmakers are working to bring lights, cameras and action back to the U.S. and back to the Peach State.

Georgia's production tax incentive has been in place since 2005 and in its current state since 2008. That basically means if productions spend more than $500,000 in Georgia, they're eligible to get 20% of that back, plus an extra 10% if they include a "Made in Georgia" tag during the credits.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development said that thanks to the incentive, more than $2 billion has been spent across 280 productions statewide in fiscal year 2026.
