Georgia Bankers Association Elects & Installs Officers & Directors to its Board

Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) members have elected and installed officers for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and added seven members to its board of directors.

At the 134th GBA Annual Meeting on June 9, Susan V. Moss, president and CEO, Planters & Citizens Bank, Camilla, was installed as the 138th GBA Chairman.

“Susan is a respected banker whose integrity, deep commitment to her hometown and leadership skills make her an excellent choice to lead our association,” said Tripp Cofield, GBA president and CEO. “As a fourth-generation banker, she understands the crucial role banks play in recycling local deposits into loans and building up the communities they serve. Her background and thoughtful perspective will strengthen our work and support the continued success of our member banks across Georgia.”

GBA members also elected two other officers for 2026-2027. Timothy M. Perry, president and CEO, The Citizens Bank of Georgia, Cumming, is GBA’s new Chairman-Elect, and Ryan P.

Earnest, president and CEO, First National Community Bank, Rome, is the new Vice Chairman.

In addition, six new board members were installed for their terms that begin July 1:

North Group: Matt Robbins, president and CEO, River City Bank, Rome

Central Group: Andrew Ainslie, president and CEO, Bank of Madison

South Group: Ryan Warren, president and CEO, Commercial Banking Company, Valdosta. He will also serve as the Community Bankers Committee representative, as he’s chairing the committee this year.

At Large: Bill Hogan, CEO, Northeast Georgia Bank, Lavonia

GBA Associate Member Representative: Stewart Thigpen, CEO, Steve H. Powell & Company

Leadership GBA Chair: Zach Giddens, EVP-senior lender, SunMark Community Bank, Warner Robins

Additionally, Ed Pope, president & CEO, F&M Bank, Washington, will serve in the position designated for the chair of GBA Services, Inc.
